I had a dream ...
My dream was of a bush camp, traditional and uncomplicated
yet comfortable.
A holiday destination remote but accessible, and with
stunning views.
A base from which guests could enjoy a South African holiday just as challenging or relaxed as they themselves wanted to make it.
A bush camp with a real feel of safari Africa.
The place for a very unusual getaway indeed.
How I found this African bush camp

The awesome Tugela river cuts the rugged scenery of Kwazulu-Natal province, providing a dramatic valley of great beauty. Following its banks one day I found my dream South African location. A site above the flood plain but within sound of the tumbling river itself.
With local help I built a small traditional camp of four rondavels and two lapas, each with mud walls and traditionally thatched roofs.
Simple furnishing completed the project and my first guests were as enchanted with the spot as I had been.
My passion ...
Everyone has different interests and happily the sporting and leisure opportunities accessible from my bush camp are as varied as you care to make them.
My own passion is rural pursuits and it did not take me long to find that using my camp as a base I could follow wild jackal hounds on foot through the most spectacular countryside and in sunshine!
But my aim is infinite flexibility: to create the South African holiday that you want. I can provide adventure for 'children' of all ages, ashore and in the river on our very doorstep. I can source fishing or shooting for those who wish it. Hunting or visits to Boer and Zulu war battlefields are easily arranged....
